Paramedic Ben Leo accompanied by Life Member Mark Hemler visited the Elks Lodge on 15 May 2023 to train members of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion on the new AEDs donated by the HDGAC. Ben told the participants “911 will ask you if you have an AED and now you can say...Yes!” He went on to explain in detail on how the units work, and gave a 30-minute demo of how to put the AED pads on and how to operate the AED using a demo unit. Paramedic Leo said, “there is no way you can do this wrong, but the wrong thing to do is not have it when it’s needed.” Thanks again to Mark Hemler for spearheading this effort and to Ben Leo for providing valuable training to the community.
