Independence Day in our Beautiful City

July 5, 2026

On Sunday, July 5, 2026, the members and their families came together to support the Independence Day Celebration in our beautiful City. We had 4 attended units as well as all of our utility vehicles manned. Support was provided by Abingdon Fire Company personnel and a Harford County DES-staffed UTV for the day to handle the thousands of citizens and visitors to the City. The day began on Saturday at 8:00 am with washing and stocking the units, followed by a Sunday lunch briefing, then the parade. Unfortunately, due to an impending storm, the fireworks were cancelled. A big Thank You to everyone who worked so hard to pull this off--from providing emergency care, to handing out 250 pounds of candy in the parade, to giving out over 1,500 bottles of cold water at the end of the parade. A special thank you to those who worked behind the scenes, as well as those who helped at the misting tent and first aid station--this couldn't happen without your help as well. A huge thank you to all those who made the day a success and to the amazing talent of Pat Venturino Photography for capturing this great day!
