MIEMSS Press Release -- Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps Conducts Advanced EMS Training at Concord Point Lighthouse |
April 21, 2025 | |
On 04/21/2025, the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps conducted a unique and challenging EMS training session at the historic Concord Point Lighthouse, one of the oldest continuously operated lighthouses in Maryland. The event brought together 20 Havre de Grace EMS personnel and a unit from Harford County Department of Emergency Services (DES) to simulate a complex patient extraction scenario. In addition to the technical rescue, the training included a high-performance cardiac arrest care simulation, utilizing high-fidelity manikins provided by Mustafa M. Sidik, EMS Region III Associate Coordinator with the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS). These advanced manikins allowed teams to practice critical life-saving interventions in real-time, reinforcing a standard of excellence in prehospital emergency care. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Carie Palmer, Ph.D., with Concord Point Lighthouse, for generously hosting this innovative training at such a historic and meaningful site. Her team made this training possible. The collaboration between the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps, Harford County DES, MIEMSS, and local partners highlights the dedication of our regional emergency services to continuous learning, operational readiness, and community-focused care for the Town of Havre De Grace. |
