Farewell to a great friend.

The Officers and Members of the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps express our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of former City of Havre de Grace Mayor, Wayne Dougherty.

Mayor Dougherty was a staunch supporter of the Corps and its members during his tenure as Havre de Grace City Mayor from 2007-2015. In the years he served, he ensured the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps was supported 100% and he always kept his eye on us. Notably, in 2015, he strongly supported the legislation to purchase three Lifepak 15's which the council approved. In 2007, his first year as Mayor, he was proud to assist with commissioning our brand new Ambulance 592 where funding to purchase the unit by the City was approved by the Council under former Mayor John P. Correri, Jr. A very proud moment for both Mayor Dougherty and Mayor Correri.

Mayor Dougherty's passion for helping people was evident at the young age of 20, where he applied and was granted membership with the American Legion Ambulance Corps. He joined in August 1968 and his application stated that he wanted to be considered for Aide's status. It is well-known that he was passionate about helping others, and daily he showed his lifelong support to the men and women of the City -- he wrote his legacy of serving and helping others each and every day on this earth and will be remembered fondly.

In the words of former Mayor John P. Correri, Jr. "Rest in Peace and God bless you and your family during this difficult time. Thank you very much for all you did for the betterment of our City of Havre de Grace MD."
